You know what they say, when something seems too good to be true it usually is…however, not this time! When making a trip to the local lumber store we ran into a bundle of 9 ft 2×4’s (>86 of them) for only $50. Saved a couple hundred dollars just because they were a little gray from the sun. Still sturdy, a little more character, and perfect for my tiny house. It seemed too good to be true and it wasn’t!
Not only that but the universe is smiling on us with excellent weather in WA. Don’t tell anyone I told you but it’s so beautiful! We picked the perfect time to build. Our main focus has been getting the exterior weather proof before fall. After that, we’ll take our time to complete the build by June 2017.
After finishing most of the framing, we started adding walls. Yeah! I got to use the nail gun to my heart’s content and quickly learned safety glasses prevent hours of torture. A little grit in the eye isn’t fun.
Over the course of a few workdays we had most of the walls and roof siding up. It’s getting easier to imagine living here a year from now.
